Description

Welcome to the Infant Sleep eLearning Program. This program is designed for health professionals and parents to help babies aged six months and older learn to sleep during the day and overnight. Research tells us that over a third of babies experience problems settling to sleep at the start of the night or waking overnight, or both. This can have a big impact on the parents and other siblings.

At the Centre for Community Child Health, we have overseen a decade-long research program to help babies settle to sleep. Through a series of high quality trials and face-to-face training programs, we have tested a number of techniques that are safe and effective to use in babies aged six months or older. This program will teach you about these techniques and provide you with materials to support you and the parents you see during these often challenging times.

Objectives

We are excited to provide this online version of our training and look forward to reaching all families and health professionals, especially those who would otherwise have been unable to access support.

Duration: Allow approximately one hour to complete this program’s four modules; additional time is recommended to review resources and references.  You can log out of this self-paced program and return at a later stage.

  • This program is accredited for 2 Royal Australian College of General Practitioners points: Number 908.
  • This program is available for Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Continuing Professional Development accreditation and will take approximately 2.5 hours (including reading of research papers).
